This week has been freezing. Literally. Imagine it being 1 degree with humidity and a wind chill making it -24. They shut down schools because of the cold. We've also been grounded a couple times because when it rains it turns into ice as soon as it hits the streets so we can't drive at all. The upside is people are home so they can't escape. Their only question why we're outside.
Funny story! On Sunday we had one of those freezing rain storms in the afternoon. We had that online event so we decided to go use the church wifi. However, our tiny chapel is on top of a hill and when we got to the base of the hill, the street was blocked off by the police. We decided to go the other way. There's only one other way to the church besides that hill. When we get there we see that it's blocked off by the police also. So we decided to go to the senior missionaries and use their wifi. So we got on Facebook for our event when all of the sudden we got a message (over Facebook) from the other missionaries. They were trapped at the church and could not leave. It was about 7 o clock and they couldn't get home. On top of that they had forgotten their phone. We went and picked them up at the bottom of the hill. It turns out that there were about 5 accidents on the hill to our church and that's the reason they were trapped. After dropping them off at home. We went to do a look up of someone we needed to visit. The downside is that they live on a street that turns off from a really steep will. We slid past our exit without control. So.....we went home and had dinner. Much safer.
I was also sick Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and we were grounded Saturday. So we were trapped inside for most of this week. Monday and Tuesday we got a lot of work done and tonight we are helping with an English Class. So ya.
Spirit time. Yesterday I studied Alma 5, 6, and 7. I thought it was interesting how different chapter 5 is from 7. They're both sermons to members of the church but one group was falling into apostasy because of pride yet the other group was humble. Complete opposites. Chapter
five he is telling them "come on guys, we can be better, here's how you repent" while to the others he says, "good job guys. Here are some prophecies and answers to questions you may have." I thought it was interesting.
I love you.
